Desalination desalination project in Maruthankerny (India) would be shelved

It is unfortunate that neither the media, nor civil society groups, Tamil National political parties or experts in the required field are unwilling to research in depth on the initiation of this proposed desalination plant in Maruthankerny and its current status. It is being handled in a slippery manner. In such a situation, certain persons are intent on portraying the quest for justice by the people of Vadamarachy East on this issue as a sort of ‘ugly revolt’ to the majority people of the North. If one considers the issues in depth and the actual truth on this [

World’s first commercial full-recovery desalination plant completed in El Paso

Enviro Water Minerals Company celebrated the completion of its new facility during a ribbon-cutting event on the Eastside. The plant will add to the city’s drinking water supply and turn minerals from groundwater into commercial products.

“By allowing our city to conserve over 700 million gallons of water a year, the new EWM facility will help provide El Paso with a greater supply of drinkable water for years to come,” Mayor Oscar Leeser said in a statement. “It will also play a critical role in ensuring that El Paso can continue to grow and improve in a way that [

Israel Chemicals (ICL) to sell stake in desalination IDE

Israel Chemicals has agreed to sell its 50 percent stake in water desalination firm IDE Technologies for about $180 million, a leading Israeli financial news website reported on Tuesday.

Israel Chemicals (ICL), a top global supplier of potash, and IDE both declined to comment.

IDE, which has built major desalination plants in the United States, Israel, India and China, is jointly owned by ICL and Israeli conglomerate Delek Group.

Tender for new Paphos (Cyprus) desalination plant in summer

A tender competition is to be announced in the summer for the construction of a new desalination plant in Paphos, acting head of the Water Development Department (WDD) Andreas Manoli said on Thursday.

The Cabinet gave the go-ahead on Wednesday for the construction of a desalination unit with a daily capacity of 15,000 cubic metres. The unit is to be built in Kouklia, in the same location where a mobile desalination unit had been installed in 2010, which is now being dismantled.

According to the cabinet, the decision was taken as part of the government policy to secure alternative access to [

in deutscher Sprache an.
