Public Invitation for a SUMMER TRAINEESHIP „Seawater-Desalination“

Attention young folks! Who needs a traineeship?

During the period of August 11th to 23rd, 2012 DME offers a summer traineeship in the field of seawater desalination. The focus of this traineeship is the supervision of a desalination plant within the framework of an exhibition.

This offer addresses young people in Germany interested in technology and with passion for an exciting exhibition.

You are kindly requested to send your application incl. a short CV and a photo via e-mail to: office@dme-gmbh.de .

Free DME online-seminar!

Basic knowledge about desalination can be learnt in the DME online-seminar which is available in English and German now.

memsys and NTU develop novel air-conditioning based on membrane technology

memsys has started a joint project with Prof. Choo Fook Hoong from the Division of Power Engineering at Singapore’s NTU. The project will focus on a membrane-based absorption Air-conditioning and Dehumidification System using Renewable Energy or Waste Heat.

With increasing importance on climate change, energy conservation and energy efficiency, the memsys design of a membrane-based liquid desiccant air-conditioning (LDAC) and dehumidification will have significant advantages over the traditional air-conditioning systems prevalent today with a key advantage: no wet surfaces.

memsys will be developing a novel all-plastic design based on membrane separation of liquid desiccant from the air in adsorption and membrane dehumidification. The dehumidification unit (dryer) will be integrated with a regeneration unit and an optimum controller for the air-conditioning system that would run using solar energy and low quality waste heat.

MVC-180

Current Desalination Project of the MEDESA GmbH in Saudi Arabia

The MEDESA GmbH has delivered the first desalination unit to the customer Al Marshad Group for the industrial area in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia. The installed unit is a MVC/MED-180, which is working on the principle of Mechanical Vapour Compression (MVC) and Multiple-Effect Distillation (MED) and it produces 180 m³ of drinking water per day.

The Al Marshad Group already has ordered three additional desalination units with a capacity of 250 m³ water per day each.
